Inauguration of the Silsilah Center in Davao


To keep the thousands of alumni “linked” or in the “chain” the Silsilah Forum was formed during the 20th Anniversary of the Movement in 2004. The Silsilah alumni, mostly Muslims and Christians from Mindanao and other parts of the Philippines (as well as other countries) are those who have joined any of the courses offered by the Silsilah Dialogue Institute during the summer. These courses are the Basic Course, the Intensive Course and the Special Course given out of the Oasis Dialogue Training Center in Harmony Village in Sinunuc, Pitogo, Zamboanga City. The Intensive Course has twice been offered in Davao City. READ ARTICLE

Religious Educators from Jolo Attend A Seminar on Dialogue and Peace


“Global problems call for global efforts, and Christian and Muslim societies have a duty to mobilize their moral, spiritual and social resources to respond to the problems of our age. We must work together with a global agenda and chart a new course for relations in the 21st century.” ( Georgetown Common Word Conference) A forum on A Common Word Between Us and You: A Global Agenda for Change was organized in Georgetown in Washington, D.C. on October 6-8, 2009. It was just one of several efforts in the world to provide Muslims and Christians a venue to address from common framework religious, historical, social and practical issues between the two world communities. TALENTS AMONG THE ZAMBOANGA CITY JAIL INMATES HARNESSED FOR PEACE AND DIALOGUE


The joyful atmosphere of the season was very discernible in the Zamboanga City Jail when the 2nd Talents and Skills Enhancement activities organized by the Silsilah Peace and Development Services (SPDS) took place on December 26 and 27, 2009. The theme of the 2-day activities was “Moving together towards an experience of harmony, solidarity and peace”, a carryover from the theme of the 2009 Renewal of Commitment held in early December.
