The news "Oasis of Dialogue and Peace" is promoted by Silsilah Dialogue Movement, published every week in a local newspaper in Zamboanga City and envoys through the net to share our expriences in Dialogue and Peace!
For two years now Rigid Aggregates Mining Corporation (RAMC) has been making its level best to get the City of Zamboanga to grant its application to conduct exploration and operation activities within the Ayala watershed area. The permit has not yet been given, thanks in no small part to the efforts of several groups to block the grant of this permit. To keep the thousands of alumni “linked” or in the “chain” the Silsilah Forum was formed during the 20th Anniversary of the Movement in 2004. The Silsilah alumni, mostly Muslims and Christians from Mindanao and other parts of the Philippines (as well as other countries) are those who have joined any of the courses offered by the Silsilah Dialogue Institute during the summer. These courses are the Basic Course, the Intensive Course and the Special Course given out of the Oasis Dialogue Training Center in Harmony Village in Sinunuc, Pitogo, Zamboanga City. The Intensive Course has twice been offered in Davao City.

We must work together with a global agenda and chart a new course for relations in the 21st century.” ( Georgetown Common Word Conference) A forum on A Common Word Between Us and You: A Global Agenda for Change was organized in Georgetown in Washington, D.C. on October 6-8, 2009. It was just one of several efforts in the world to provide Muslims and Christians a venue to address from common framework religious, historical, social and practical issues between the two world communities.
